I am an old man (56!) , taking computers (and other pieces of sometimes very sophisticated equipment) to the limits for almost 40 years, most of the time for a living. A few operating systems and tens of programming languages or so. I have got a PhD in Physics and I am Professor at the University of Lisbon.

I am not a skilled writer (not in English, not in my native language) but English is my first language when it comes to science and technology.

Not really technophilic, I just want the stuff to work and get things done. Technology, to me, is to get things done and/or to improve my living.

I have just replaced my 3+ years old HTC TyTN by a nexus one, I hope it will last around 3 years too.

Hi - old at 56 - give me a break. I am 66 and refuse to consider myself old. Always racing to keep up with tech and I love it although with all the new info get lost half the time.

is there anyway to stop/remove the lock touch screen my big thumbs have a time sliding the icons off to unlock it...thanks

I love my Nexus One, it's my first smart phone after using my old mobile for 5 years... I'm very addicted at the moment to the new "toy". Any idea how long the addiction will last? :-)
