    Gmail App and SSL

    Hi all,
Anyone know if the Gmail App uses SSL encrypted sessions to contact the gmail servers? If not, a simple sniff of an open WiFi connection will reveal usernames and passwords.

Gmail on my laptop, i "always use SSL" and so would like to do the same on my phone.

    Any ideas?

    Chris
