    Got a reply, they gave me the exact same details that 3 did this morning..
    So no idea what's going on. It must just be weird coverage in my area. I'm going to drive to an area where i know there is 3G signal & see what happens.. Maybe i'll retrieve an EDGE signal after that.

    Anyway here was the email i sent to HTC;
    "I am having difficulty setting my nexus one up for internet on the 3uk network. I've been told that HTC have been very helpful with other people who are experiencing similar issues on the same/other networks. I am able to send & recieve texts and calls but internet won't work at all. I live outside a 3g area but never had issues on my old phone in Edge or 3g areas. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Aaron"

    And their response;
    "Hi Aaron,

    so what happened in the end.
    Have you guys successfully connected 3 uk internet?

    I'm having the same problem at the mo.

    It shows R sign next to the bar which I assume I'm using orange network as someone mentioned previously. (no G,3G,H sign at all)
    If I enable Data roaming option, then I can connect otherwise no internet at all.

    I have unlimited data add-on with 3uk, so I'm just wondering if they charge me for using this way (data roaming)

    Thank you in advance.

    If I have an R sign (ie connected through Orange) then I find internet connectivity is really bad (non-existent or very slow). I think this is a problem with the N1 on 3 as my previous Nokia did have internet connectivity when I was in the same physical location.

    If I have 3G then internet connectivity is good.

    I dont think 3 charge you if you use data roaming (ie Orange) in the UK when there is no 3 signal.

    I have since moved to o2. The fact that I was unable to use mobile internet was a massive deal breaker for me.

    On o2 I have perfect data connectivity.

    Can I just ask, though for possible future reference- are you on contract or PAYG? Because I couldn't get any connectivity even while data roaming was turned on.

    I'm PAYG. When the R is showing I'm having the same connectivity problems that you had. I think we can conclude there's a data connectivity problem if you have a 3 PAYG sim & roaming on Orange.
