Unhappy Time lag in caller line identification

I have noticed a HUGE!!! time lag in caller line identification...

this is probably because ALL my gmail contacts are synced to the phone....

I have done my best to remove duplicates at http://www.google.com/contacts

but am still stuck with over 3.5K contacts

even starring (favourites) on the phone doesn't help in identifying who the caller is any faster than if they were not on my favourite list

    any help?

I'll state the obvious: start a new gmail account, and transfer only those few contacts you speak with regularly. It's rocket science at it's best.

    Thanks Alpha,

I had thought of what you have said... prior to posting this question

    FYI-
    I have 8 Gmail accounts....but i can't change the main one
because of all the services (over 25 google services) i have linked to the account.

My only hope is that Froyo has a better algo for contact search.

    Thanks for the tip anyways...

Still waiting to hear from the only person who gets me (till now) - Mr Slim.

You may want to visit the Google board and search/start a thread there, seeing as they would be the ones to 'fix' your issue.
