    Here's a stop gap

    NOT A FIX

Use volume button, trackball to wake up your Android with No-Lock | AndGeeks

IF ROOTING SHALL FIX - I WILL ROOT!!!!

I think we ALL want an alternate way to power up and down, and Reboot

    Won't do it

I reiterate of Rooting shall Fix i Shall Root!

This happens to me, I turn on my Nexus One, the first time nothing, then when I press it again it turns on. I don't know what is happening, it just started a few weeks ago! I does suck that this seems to be an issue for a good phone.

Yep. It'll just get worse until you can't turn it on! That's what happened with mine, and that's when I called HTC.

    Angry Britting Shicks

    You guys are lucky

    HTC ignores the N1 here..

I have to travel about 2000 miles to Singapore to get it fixed

Trying to Ship it from India (to anywhere) is a Nightmare - i don't lie - Indian Customs are 'difficult'

I'm just praying, and taking preemptive action

Lightbulb Thank you i do not need to root anymore

Here's How I've prevented the power button issue, by taking some stress off it...

But this is not a cure... it is just a preventive...

Well I am again officially and deeply impressed by my n1's awesome capabilities ...have taken the stress off the power button with an awesome program called LockBot that allowed any key to wake the screen, but not unlock the phone.. Now I ONLY need to use the power key to switch off and on ... Or force my n1 screen to lock and sleep... No more ROOTING required (for now)... Thanks for all you help.. couldn't have done it without the help of my close friends, who due to their personal requests, shall remain unnamed.
