Hmm. Never thought of that. I'm using LauncherPro. I'm going to use stock to see if that changes anything. Good heads up. I'm not sure if that's the problem since Lokesh is asking what a launcher is, so I'm sure it's stock for that phone. A launcher is an app to change the look and feel of the home screens. Look up "LauncherPro" in the market to see what one is.
Stock N1 with Android 2.1.
Mine did this once, I finally pulled the battery (ala my Blackberry 8900 days) and that set it right.
I try to remember to turn it off then back on once a day and it seems perfectly stable.
I did the manual update, but didn't notice a problem at the time. But its gotten pretty bad in the past few days. At first I thought I was being impatient, or the button was not working or double-clicking, so it's nice to know others are seeing the problem.
Nothing unusual running, barely a dozen apps loaded, using only WiFi for data with phone data usually turned off.
BTW, for me that's a winning new feature in 2.2 -- the ability to turn off data over the cellular network. I have an unlocked T-M phone, and tried it first by making a call with my existing AT&T account. Even though WiFi was available, it must have sent a little data. A few hours later AT&T sent a text message saying that I had signed up for a data plan :-( with an early termination fee :-( :-(. Although with the recent announcement, it might mean I'm grandfathered into unlimited data, albeit on Edge.
The reset key combo did nothing, like I said my phone was frozen.
I wish I could figure out if an app was causing this and if so, which one.
Per Google's help (?) web site I did a factory reset. Fun.
