    New Phone BC of dust

So i had dust, and they are sending me a new phone. Will the phone be a refurb or a new set (its an att model). If it is a refurb, what kind of conditions can i expect? Scratches, dings, screen quality. Anyone have a refurb that can describe their experience?

When I did a return on my T-Mobile Nexus One in March, the phone they sent me was Brand New. That was about 2 months after the original phone was released, so you are at a similar time. The HTC rep told me that all replacement T-Mobile Nexus Ones at that time were still Brand New.

The odds of you getting a referb are low. If it is new or referb, inspect it well. You can always return the referb if there are any imperfections.

I wouldn't sweat it...they put the guts into a new case (with the new SEALED panel) and flash it back to factory spec...good as new, imho.

I'm on my second replacement now (wifi chip, then power button). Both phones came in looking brand new and were newer builds than my previous phone based on the serial number. Not sure if they give refurbs new serial numbers.

Support from HTC has been awesome. Immediate response.

    I am thoroughly PISSED!

If someone makes a product and expects to sell it for $530, they better own up to their own flaws in their manufacturing process, and then address the faulty handsets they sent out properly!

That means sending me a new handset without flaws or the defect that is worthy of the HUGE price tag, not some two-bit refurb that is scratched to hell.

And they say they cant offer me a new phone even though they have people return unopened ones that get listed as "refurbished". Why can't I specifically request that when it is considered by HTC to be a refurbished phone???
