Question Gallery Application not accessing SD Card

I recently did a factory reset on my Nexus One and now that I have all apps working again, the gallery application does not read from my SD card where all my pictures are stored. It only reads from the downloaded directory and the phone camera directory and not all the folders with pictures that reside on my SD card. At first I thought the card had been erased or the card was broken but the music application sees and plays my music and I can see the directories and the thumbnails using my OI file manager app which shows me all the directories full of pictures and allows me to selectively look at thumbnails and even view them individually in Gallery but not upload them all into gallery as I had them before. I am hoping it is just a setting somewhere that says upload all folders from SD card but I cannot find it.

    Any help would be appreciated,

    Thanks,

    IanC

There's a bug in the 2.2 gallery app. This has been reported to the powers that be.

Interesting to know that there is a bug. I assume that means until it is fixed there is no workaround? Hope it comes soon.

    Thanks for the response.

While there is a gallery bug that could affect in different ways, your problem could be just the common gallery loading issue which has affected Android phones for a while now. Have you powered off and rebooted?

Yes, I have rebooted, removed the battery, powered off, everything I can think of but still no folders showing from my SD card. I guess I will have to wait until Gallery is updated. If you have any other suggestions I am very open to ideas. My kids love looking at pictures on my N1 and it is a drag telling them they can't.

    Thanks a lot.

    Just a couple of ideas:
    • Try removing the SD card and reinserting it again.
    • Try mounting/unmounting the SD card.
    • Try moving the files from the computer again.

Do these in combination with a reboot.

    Good luck!

Hi, thanks for the suggestion. I have downloaded Swithpro but can't seem to find the reload SD card toggle. Can you tell me where it is? I see the APN, media volume, camera flashlight, time selector, wifi panel, bluetooth panel, signal off and wifi off toggle. Where is the SD relaod? Thanks again, Ian.

Longpress on the home screen to bring up Widgets find switchpro then under positions there will be a drop down box with reload SD there.
