    No sound in handset speaker

After I unplugged my headset from the jack yesterday I've not been able to get any audio output from the ear speaker of my Nexus One. I can get audio output if I press the loudspeaker button or in the headset if I plug it back in. I'm on build FRF91.

I've experienced similar issues with a previous release, but then a reboot resolved the problem. But it did not help at this time. I also tried to uninstall the mixing audio player that I was using when this occured, but to no avail.

Is there a test program to test the various audio output devices independent upon software settings?

Have you tried rebooting the phone but taking the battery out for at least 30 seconds while its off?

A factory reset may also be advisable, its strange how often this can fix problems that seem illogical to repair with a factory reset.

Nothing is perfect, but we must not lose faith in perfection. If we did, everything would be a whole lot worse than it is now!

Yes, but it did not help. I have not tried the factory reset route yet as I need to backup some data and settings before trying that.

I get this this every-so-often too, normally I either plug the headset in/out a few times while playing music or switch to silent mode then back to normal and starts working again.

Maybe it will work for you too. Luckily I've never had to factory reset for this issue.

Unfortunately I still can't get any sound by plugging the jack in and out again a few times. Am I right in that the Nexus One uses some mechanical switch in the jack to set some status register which is monitored or controlled by sofware to select the audio output?
