Here is link to the Cyanogen Nightly Forum. Each nightly rom is an improvement and they are getting close to RC3. Read all the posts. I would highly sugggest searching for a lot of forums and pages on flashing roms and read a lot. I spent dozens of hours reading how to guides and forums before I attempted anything or even asking questions until I understood it fairly well.

You need to download the latest "passion" one for the N1. Download it to your PC and copy it to your phones sd card. Do this after you mount your sd card thru the usb cable. You can copy/paste it. Make sure you have enabled usb debugging and usb debugging notify under phones settings/applications/development. After you copy to card close out window and unmount card by clicking on device icon in bottom tray and making sure you are told it is ok to disconnect phone. If not done properly you can mess up sd card. Also, back up your sd card frequently to your pc.

You don't copy to phone while in recovery or fastboot modes.

When flashing a rom your phone is not connected to the pc.

Once on the sd card name the zip file "update" no quotes if using windows. Sometimes windows adds an extra .zip and causes problems. Always do a nandroid backup before flashing.

I would first get Titanium Backup from Market for backing up apps and do a backup. I also like LauncherPro for my desktop program, it allows for restoring all homescreens to original look including folders. That happens after you flash rom, activate wifi first if you have it, reinstall TB then run LauncherPro thru TB or if you can't, reboot and select it as your default desktop. LP will put all icons back and save time restoring them to your original look.

I haven't followed all the posts here, so I assume you have a recovery image and understand how to get to it to flash the zip from the sd card.

    Slim,

I thought the Op had recovery installed based on his first post. Sounds like a lot more research is needed before attempting these things.

I thought I answered that, maybe it didn't post. You can try a battery pull to get phone back on, then wipe and reflash what you tried or your last working rom. Don't really understand all your problems, my guess is you need to do a lot more research on all this. It seems you are just winging it, but I may be wrong.

    Good Luck
