Unfortunately, with whatever Asurion wants to replace it with..you are at their mercy. :|

Yeah, Assurion is a joke. I broke the screen on my 1st Nexus One 2 months ago. And after following their claims process they told me the Nexus One was no longer in production and told me they would give me a MyTouch 3G as a replacement... for an additional $130 mind you.

I called Google support and they sent me a replacement Nexus One for $115. I just had to send my broken one back to them once the new one arrived.

Needless to say I walked into the T-Mobile store with all of the paperwork from Google proving that the Nexus One was still available and I made T-Mobile refund the $5.99/month payments back to me for the previous 6 months I had been paying for the "insurance".

Moral of the story is Assurion was a crap company before the Nexus One got discontinued, you can rest assured they will continue to be so now. If you have problems just call Google, they will help you out.
