    Recovery install methods are here...
    http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki...Recovery_Image

Don't know if your bootloader is locked or not?

Like I said, it usually requires you to boot into recovery to work, so you may have to skip that step...

powering off the phone, holding down the trackball while pressing the power button. also tried holding down the vol- button while pressing the power button and then i tried holding down the vol-button, trackball and the power button.

also tried sending the adb reboot-recovery command. just reboots the phone and goes right back to the loop where it's stuck.

Having again looked at the video for a while, I would say your recovery is trying to install something, so logically, the recovery is working...

First, check to see if there is an update zip on your SD. If there is, delete it, because it obviously ain't working...

If that doesn't work, since you can't stop the recovery from trying to install, try flashing a new recovery via adb. I would go with the blind method from the link I sent...

no update.zip. i was actually trying the blind method. when i get to the shell script i get this.

    cobbs@Desktop:~/Android/tools$ ./adb shell
    ~ # mount -o rw /system
mount: mounting /dev/block/mtdblock3 on /system failed: Device or resource busy
    ~ #

Makes sense, really, if the recovery is trying to install an update...

I would say you need some way to try kill the recovery, using adb. Unfortunately, I'm not that familiar with adb...

    Woooooo HOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i'm not entirely sure what i did......... but i think i have it. i transfered amon's 1.7.0 img to the sdcard and aptly renamed it recovery.img. after just now trying to restart to see if i could get fastboot to do anything it must have found the recovery.img and reflash amon. i'm looking at amons recovery now as i type.
