It seem that the more hot it gets, the badder the touchscreen issues are. Mine is almost always set between 0 and 25% bright and touchscreens issues are very small in amount.

I hear that nexus one is good, but how does it compare with iPhone? I'm about to change phone plan and you input is much appreciated. How about signal strength?

Kelvin, I'll save you time/money/frustration: Don't get the N1. Go for the iPhone, you won't regret it.

Replacing the digitizer in the N1 solves the problem?

I'm thinking of replacing it myself.

I bought the phone while I was in the US and now I'm in Brazil and HTC doesn't want to know anything of the phone...

i had the same problems reported here.Until one day...the phone suddenly crashed, black screen.took out the battery, reboot then a few vibrations and bye bye.after that the phone wont turn on, and wont even charge, not even the orange light indicator is not turned on when plugged in.i sent the phone to 3 repairing centers with no luck.last technician said the RAM memory or nand flash memory might be the problem because he couldn't write the software inside.he asked me i ever dropped the phone on the floor because that might be the cause.its true that my girlfriend dropped it one time, very short height though.who knows?!even so i still like this phone,i like android phones.

It's not that I don't like it. I love the phone and being able to flash anything onto it without worrying much.

I do hate HTC and their inability to build the phone without it bugging up.
It just made me friendlier towards iPhone, even though I prefer android.

And the N1 is prettier that the Samsung phones, including Nexus S.

As it stands, I won't and don't recommend anyone buying an HTC phone again.

But I digress, does anyone know if replacing the digitizer fixed anything?

I'm set to 25% brightness, I keep my screen clean of smudges and installed Better Keyboard. (no more keyboard freezes)

    Touchscreen issues almost disappeared.

I'd like to suggest an ugly workaround It does not fix the issue, but helps to save the time. Instead of rebooting the phone just lock the screen on and then off. In my case this repairs (for a while) a touchscreen's weird behavior in different apps.
