    Updates of Aps all "Unsuccessful"

Every app that did not come stock receives updates. They download and install. Upon the end of every installation is the notification, "installation of [name of ap] unsuccessful." When I click on the notification it brings up a bubble that states "Unknown Reason 18."

I'm running stock android 2.2.1 on T-Mobile with plenty of memory available, both on the phone and SD card.

    Any suggestions?

Try unmounting your sd card in the settings before installing the apps...

How will this help with apps that are on my sd card?

Just move them to your phone temporarily.

Simple enough. Thanks. I just hope that I don't have to do this forever. It may be time to do a factory reset.

I hope so two for your sake but one question did you get the market update because I heard that some people didn't get it yet so maybe it would fix your problem.

Are apps supposed to update if they have been moved to the SD card? That never works for me. I always have to move the ones on the SD card to the phone before I can update them.

Same here. its very annoying. The only way I have found is to move the app back to the phone then update...then move it back to the sd card. The new market did not help.

It's hard to determine what the real problem is, because I've seen so many different variations...

Download a logcat from the market, and immediately after the error, look at the log report and see if you can find the error. The error will probably be in red text, so it's ready to find. Post the error(s) on here...
