Failed to update to 2.3.3 please have a look!Ty

    Hello everyone,

    I have a few questions.

I own Google Nexus One Korean version
    The phone is not rooted.

    Android version
    2.2.1
    Baseband version
    32.50.00.32U_5.12.00.08
    Kernel version
    2.6.32.9-ge8111ea
    htc-kernel@u18000-Build-149#1
    Build number
    2.18.1010.4 CL269498 release-keys

    Hboot-0.35.0017
    Radio-5.12.00.08
I followed the exactly instructions to update my android to 2.3.3 and for some reason i get this message:
    – Install from sdcard…
    Finding update package…
    Verifying update package…
E: failed to verify whole-file signature
    E: signature verification failed
    Installation aborted.
If i try to update to 2.2.2 i also get this message
is it possible that the released update zip file doesn't work for my build number?
i also want to mention that i named the downloaded zip file properly and place it into the root of my sd card.i also downloaded the file several times different browsers, chrome,IE,opera and also using the phone`s browser with no luck.
Can i do anything to get the latest update?or i have to wait for the OTA update

    Thanks in advance

i know you changed the name and all, but are you sure you named the file "update" and not "update.zip" ? cause windows add .zip at the end by itself. so it would end up "update.zip.zip" on your SD.

rename it to only "update" on your computer then try again.

maybe your rom have been tweaked by carrier ?

personally, i installed a 2.2 stock rom with passimg method and installed the 4 updates (just couple more minutes in the process )

i get em here and will work for sure :

It's failing signature verification, so I would say you have a tweaked build...

iPeck hit the nail on the head.

If you want to root, do it before you update, and then flash a rooted build, because GB doesn't have a root method that's available yet...

You don't need to root, I was just mentioning the fact that it may be a while before you can root if you install GB.

If you want the update, use the passimg method to install a completely stock build, then you can install the updates. This will wipe your data, so backup with MyBackup first...

I had the same problem and fixed it with these instructions:
