    Sound only works with headsets

    Hello,

I am using Nexus one and 2 days ago my sound all went off except when I plug my headsets. When I unplug my headsets, all phone sounds disappear although I made sure all sound is enabled and is at max.

The only time I had sound again without the headsets is when my brother called me yesterday, the ringtone did not work immediately but a few seconds sound came back for about 3 seconds then went away. I have tried resetting the phone back to factory settings following this guide How to hard reset the Google Nexus One - Know Your Cell

but the problem still persists I only get sound, from ringtones pressing buttons and so on only with any headsets plugged in.

I would be very grateful if someone is kind enough to help with this issue as it is very irritating.
    Thank you very much!

Sounds like a hardware issue - possible a loose connection to the rear speaker...?

So the only way to fix it is to go back to my phone provider?

I'm only guessing, but that's what it sounds like. If the phone is in warranty than send it to HTC, if not, then take it to a local repair shop or do it yourself...

How many software engineers does it take to replace a lightbulb?

    None, it's a hardware problem :rofl3:
