How is the upgraded yahoo??? I refuse to spend money on a email account which SHOULD BE FREE. It started as a free service and if they want a premium price it should be a premium service.... getting POP email shouldn't cost 20 dollars. I know pop mail is bad for yahoo since it diverts the ads they profile from though...

I think it was time to change to gmail. The gmail interface is so much nicer than yahoo and it integretes with the nexus easier. It did take sometime to update all my accounts with the new email but I'm glad I did.

Down the road they will most likely want money from us too. They do everything for free for you at first and then start asking for money later. They probably figure that half will leave and half will pay because they have to keep that email address.

If you are experiencing issues with Yahoo/Hotmail synching to the Nexus One you do not have to pay the additional $20 for the Pop access you can login to GMAIL account and select the "synch with another account" option so that all emails from any account are delivered through GMAIL but still retain the original email address an tags of the accounts in question and you can also select a option to keep a copy of the message on the individual email servers so that you have a backup.

This is the better solution for solving the email synch issue and it also means that you wont have the problem of Hotmail downloading old emails on each sync.

Give that a try and see if it works.

I have had my personal POP3 account setup in Gmail as you describe above. The only problems with that are:

1- The frequency at which those emails are fetched is random and sometimes it can be up to an hour or more before those emails are fetched. There is no setting in Gmail to change this.

2- If you get an non-Gmail email in Gmail and want to respond to it, the sender will then appear as your Gmail address. There is an option to change this on Gmail on the computer, but *not* on Android.

    Agree with you totally.
Seems to have slowed down big time MAYBE!! since android was updated last week.

Sometimes takes 1-2 hrs to sync, tried to find sync settings but no.

    Anyone else having same problem?

    gmail issue for me.......

I've had the phone nearly a month now and it's fantastic in every aspect but the last few days i've noticed that i'm not getting emails pushed to me from gmail!

My sync "button" is on and it seems the only way to get emails is to turn it off then back on again, this seems to then request my emails and they arrive. Up until recently the emails would just automatically appear in my task bar with a beep to indicate their arrival.

I can't recall messing around with any settings in gmail (either on the phone or via a browser) to turn off notifications and the only thing i've done in the last week or so is install the chrome browser on my laptop.

    Any ideas ?
