Every HTC phone I have owned has had this problem except my ancient PPC-6700. Touch Diamond, Hero, now the Nexus One. Most noticeable when charging and using 3G. 3G data seems to really use up processor cycles.

Mine gets luke-warm but nothing to be alarmed about. It's got a 1Ghz processor in there, it'll probably get a bit warm

Yes! A strong processor will run heavier! I noticed the phone will get warmish when using it heavy and charging.

But if it gets HOT you should probably let to cool down for a minutes! Its probably a combination of usage and your hands on it! I doubt it will affect usage, but its better to not keep it hot.

I used to have a HTC P3300 and that phone used to get hot when I am talking on the phone. I have the same problem with Nexus one (bit not too hot like P3300).
May be since it's made by HTC.

I also noticed. Felt like my first 3gs iphone. Also noticed when it heats up like that it gets a little laggy.

After a closer look for the last 3 days, I DON'T thinks its the battery, I thinks is more due to the processor and 3G network chip. My home has bad 3G reception, and I think it mostly get's hot due to these two stuff. Not that happy, but I guess it's bearable....

I shut off my live wallpaper and the n1 does not heat up like it was anymore or lag.
