That seemed to fix my touchscreen issues. I guess a hard reset after the upgrade to the new firmware is needed. However, now my calendar refuses to use the ringtone I select (which worked before the reset). Plus I had to go through and put all my screen icons back and all my system settings. You can't back that stuff up unless you've rooted your phone. I suggest taking screenshots or writing stuff down prior to a hard reset.

Is the phone plugged in while you are experiencing these issues? If so, then it is most likely a bad ground and static electricity. It is a capacitive screen after all and static electricity plays hell with them.I have noticed this many times with my Moto Droid as well.

Sent from my nexus while in lying in bed even.

Hmm, I am having alot of the touch sensitivity issues too - especially on the bottom of screen and the buttons. BUT reading this thread, I tried the "PRESS JUST ABOVE where you want" and at least with 10 minutes of trying everything works much better. I had a sudoku game with the last 'get a number' row 7,8,9, not registering the hit 1 out of 3 times, now it always registers it - so I would suggest this technique at the first thing to try.

Playing solitare on my Nexus-One I fequently have touch tracking problems. Either the touch screen refuses to acknowledge any touch at all, or the touch point is acknowledged in the wrong position (resulting in moving the wrong cards.).

I find that (for some odd reason) if I shift my hands on the phone and try the touch sequence again it may work. But it definitely prefers on particular hand-holding position on the phone. Sounds strange, but it likes my right hand holding the phone with two fingers on the top of the horizontal screen, and my thumb at the bottom ... and touching it with my left fingers.

Also ... when the battery is low the sensitivity and accuracy of the touch screen is significantly affected.

    How's that for a bug report? ;-)

Try toggling the power button (screen off, then on again), as a quick fix...

I pulled the SD card out. It appears it's an SD card problem and not a Nexus One problem, as I inserted the SD card into an external card reader and attempted to delete the contents of the card and was unable to.

Thanks for all the help! I learned a lot about my phone in the process.
