I saw it but just changed the white balance to outdoors and it went away.

I've been playing around with white balance and even did a factory restore but still no joy. Spoke to someone at HTC UK support who are looking into it at the moment.

Nexus One Camera Issue: Cloudy Red Blur in Middle

    Hey guys,

When I am taking pictures or video, there is always a light patch of opaque red that is in the middle of the screen, covering alot of real estate. This patch shows up in the pictures I take as well.

Does anyone else have this problem? It is pretty annoying and was wondering if I am alone in this issue.

    Samples:

    Imageshack - 20100113190244
    Imageshack - 20100113190212
    Imageshack - 20100113190233

Edit: I know someone is going to ask, and yes my lens is clean, i even used a microfiber wipe and inspected the lens under a high powered LED for defects or scratches, but the lens looks smooth as a babies butt!

That's a strange one. Judging by the 2nd pic I assume it does this both with flash and without flash.

What happens when you change the camera settings (white levels, and stuff). Still the same?

You are correct soulstar, does with both flash and without flash. Granted my bathroom is a lowlight situation.

When I take pics in broad daylight, I cannot see the "red cloud", because I assume the extra amount of light floods the redness out of the picture.

So maybe this only occurs when there is not enough light for the camera?

I tried alot of adjustments to no avail.

I would return my phone under warranty, but my phone is rooted so I am afraid it is not an option anymore :-(

I'd have a fit and demand a new phone if mine did that. I took random photos for the first time today and I think they look great. I did nothing special but point and click except in a couple I tried different white balance specifically the bar photos, the 3 across the river shots and the balcony shots. The one Husky dog shot is edited with an app called Pic Say Pro just to try changing the lighting and cropping. If you want to see my "normal" it's this album

Also they look better afterwards on the computer than on the camera screen when you're setting up the shot.

I CAME BACK HERE ON 1/14/10 TO EDIT MY POST THAT I FIGURED IT OUT.

GO CHANGE YOUR CAMERA SETTINGS UNDER COLOR EFFECTS ON THE CAMERA MENU.

THE DEFAULT IS "NONE" CHANGE IT TO MONO AND NO MORE PINK!
