Can someone confirm this issue so I know it's not a defective device?

    Hi guys,

I've been having some issues with the touch screen, but I noticed some strange behavior in the alarm application. I'm hoping it's a software bug and not a touchscreen issue.

Go into the alarm app and add four alarms. I'm not sure if the number has anything to do with it, but if there's a touch screen issue this will bring it out as the list will extend down the screen quite a bit.

Now, click the left most button on the top row. It should toggle the alarm on and off. If you repeatedly hit it you should see the alarm on the bottom jump down and toggle on and off sometimes.. almost as if the touch screen is reading quick touches in the wrong spots. It seems like it's a touch screen issue because it doesn't register the touch in the spot you are actually clicking...

I hope this is clear enough. Long story short: add a few alarms and toggle the top one real fast. Do you see touches registered in places nowhere near your finger?

    Please let me know.. thanks!

This is the touchscreen issues that has been going around - you just found a specific way to notice it. This has also been referred to as "The touch screen goes all crazy!".

I found putting it to sleep and waking it back up (without a reset) has worked for me.

Do you know if this issue is a physical defect? Can it be fixed with an update?

I do not know, but I assume it's a software issue.

I would advice to post this in google support pages so they are aware that you Re not the only one experiencing this
I switched from Symbian to Android on January 6 2010...

...then I sold my N1 to get the AT&T version but I'll wait for a qwerty solution from google or better with AT&T band support and got the Nokia E75...

    lol

Hmmm. Tried it... it didn't happen. Are you laying down when doing this? I have the auto rotate shut off so if its related to the auto tilt then that might be why. It might also be your hand touching the corner of the screen which is VERY SENSITIVE and just hovering my hand ocer the corner registers a touch.
