    google calendar sync issue

I have been having a problem with calendar sync. If I create a calendar event in outlook, then it syncs all the way through the google calendar to the phone as expected. If I create an event in google calendar online then it also syncs with outlook, as expected as I have 2-way sync enabled.

However, if I create a calendar event on the nexus one, then it syncs correctly with my google calendar online as expected but does not bubble up to outlook even after forcing a manual sync operation.

It seems that any calendar event created on the phone does not end up on outlook even though it makes it to the google calandar online.

    Weird eh?

Anybody know whats going on? It's almost as if the calendar event created on the phone is tagged to prevent it syncing with outlook.

Nexus will only sync with your primary Google account for calendars, you're doing nothing wrong it's just designed that way.

Thanks for the reply. I sort of get what you’re saying but I’m not sure my understanding is complete.
So the Nexus will sync with the Google account calendar, and the Google account will sync with Outlook. Are you saying that the Google account will sync individually with each calendar but will not pass entries through from Nexus to the Outlook calendar, nor vice versa. But it does work the other way, that is, entries created by Outlook end up on the Nexus. ??

    Am I still missing something?

Yeah, that doesn't make any sense. Ok, it only syncs with his primary google calendar, he said that's working fine. But he also said his calendars are set up so that he can sync his primary google calendar with his outlook calendar. Why would events created on the Nexus not sync with his outlook, when events created in his primary google calendar do sync with outlook? It shouldn't make any difference.

Have you tried copying the event in your main calendar, and then syncing to outlook? Maybe it'll ignore whatever flag is preventing syncing on copy.

Thanks, I tried this - it worked. I made a calendar entry on Nexus, it sync'd with Google web calendar ok but not with outlook. I then did a "duplicate entry" on Google web calendar event editor and then I forced a sync and it appeared in Outlook.

I guess that's probably the same as re-creating the calendar entry in Google web calendar manually and then sync-ing with Outlook which we already know works.

It would be a pain in the a** to have to do this everytime a Nexus calendar entry is made. I need to be able to add calendar entries on the Nexus when away from my office and have them ripple through to my Outlook calendar.

Given that is works ok in the other direction I think it's a bug. I'll try to find a way of letting the Goggle team know. Otherwise if it is intended to work like this then there needs to be an option to allow update to Outlook from Nexus
