    3G issue?

    Just got my nexus one in yesterday on tmobile. I'm located in 22309 and according to tmobile coverage map i should be in the best 3G area. At home i'm lucky to hold 1 or 2 bars on edge, in fact i couldn't hold a phone call for 5min with out dropping it.

    So today I was omw to work watching the signal, once i got out of my neighborhood it went up to full bars and eventually 3G for maybe 1 mile. It then went back to edge all the way to work (3 mile drive).

    Now i'm sitting at work, full bars on edge. The entire time i'm at home and driving to work my blackberry bold on AT&T has full bars on 3G, i never even see edge......

    Has google fixed the issue with the N1 not being able to pick up 3G or is this a tmobile issue? It's a great phone so far but if this is a tmobile problem i'm sending this thing back.

    there have been 2 software/radio updates since the initial release: ERE27-Official & ERE36B-Leaked/Unofficial. ERE27 is supposed to address the 3G issue. go to Settings->About Phone->System software updates and select Check Now to see if your phone needs the update. i recommend reading about the updates before choosing to accept it. there's also an unofficial/leaked release ERE36B that some of us have used, although 3G signal improvements vary by user/location. i suggest reading the Nexus One forums at MoDaCo and xda-developers to get more info before deciding what to do. hope this helps!

    thanks for the response..

    The phone promted me for an update when i first got it up and running. I of course let it install the update but i checked and no new updates are available. I'll peek around and see what i can find before i return the phone and cancel service.
