Having trouble pulling up contacts when directly messaging.

    Hi everyone,

This is my first post on these forums.

I am having a problem attempting to easily access my contacts when going staight to "MESSAGING"

The way I now need to find people to text is to go to "PHONE" > "CONTACTS" > Then find my contact > Then select text messaging.

If I go straight to my "MESSAGING" quick link, then "COMPOSE NEW MESSAGE" .... When I start typing in the address field, no contacts pop up. So if I were to try to text "Mathew" I should be able to type in the letter "M" and all of my "M" contacts should come up correct?

    Any ideas?

Strange, if I go into the "To" field and start typing a name it has a drop box with the name of the contact. I noticed you do have to type 2 letters in for it to search.

IIRC, contacts require a mobile phone number field to be populated to be included in the SMS dropdown lists. Check that, and g'luck!
    Wow, you are exactly right.

Now do you know a way to change all of my contact's phone numbers from "OTHER" to "MOBILE"?

This is going to suck with 200 contacts.

but yeah this was my main concern but this definitely solved the problem!!

but yes, it would be A LOT easier if there was an option to change all the numbers to "MOBILE" instead of "OTHER"
