What is the best Nav for this phone ?

I travel all over Chicago_land for my business, and need a good Navigation system. What is the best app for the Nexus-One ? Does it come with a solid app to begin with, or you recommend a 3rd party app that is free or paid ?

    Thanks

The stock navigation app is simply awesome! You can even longpress the search button and say "navigate to (destination)" and it will give you directions.

Agreed! I've used it extensively for trips I have taken and it worked like a charm.

there is no point in third party navigation apps when Google Navigation is free and bests them all by a wide margin.

My days of looking for third party navigation solutions are over. Yours will be too if you buy a Nexus One.

Keep in mind google nav requires data plan, if you don't got data then get copilot.

    +1 for google nav.....

I was traveling with my brother this past weekend and his garmin got us lost. I turned on my google nav and we got to our hotel without a problem. He is now quite envious of the Nexus.

I used it last weekend in Downtown Houston. My friend's blackberry got us lost and I told him to try mines. We got to our destination easily. He now wants a N1.

    Mostly decent...

Mostly agree but Google navigation through maps *is* lacking compared to, for example, Tom Tom on iPhone:

    - No speed indicator
    - No day/night mode
    - No general trip summary or more than just the route- ie, distance countdown to destination, distance countdown to next waypoint/turn, etc.

It'll do in a pinch but it's not full featured by any means.
