    "my location" totally wrong

I have experienced a new problem recently:

'My location' in google maps is off by 10 miles or so when I'm not using gps. I tried uninstalling all updates to google maps, and then it worked perfectly again!
I thought updates were supposed to make my phone better..

    Anyone?

You have a wait for it to load. Mine takes about 20 seconds to a minute to figure out my exact location after I open my Map app. Its like this with all Android phones..

wait.. when you're NOT using gps? Without gps it only estimates your location based on the cell towers, if i'm not mistaking. so turn on your gps and see if that helps?

Not as bad as mine will randomly for some reason always put me in Moscow, Russia... I Live in arizona, Usa.

Not all the time, just randomly ill go into maps and bam, i'm in russia, im like wtf? so i update my weather and it says im in russia. Gets super weird, but after like 30 minutes it goes back to where i'm at. Does it couple times a week.

I think without gps it uses either cell tower or wifi - a bit like google maps the my location can detect where I am to within 100ft when I am at home even though the nearest base station is miles away - however when I am on my companies wifi, it finds it much harder to pinpoint my location. Regardless if I want the phone to know where I am, I just turn on gps

Yeah, Idk. I've heard of it happening to other people too. Just doesn't make sense.

One time, I was looking for a store, so I was doing directions from my location to the store, and by car, said it would take a month or something haha. I was like what the hell? I'm not driving from Russia!!!!!
