    Handcent App

    Hey Mates

I used to have the Handcent theme embedded in the default Messages app on my N1...However, yesterday i accidentally set my messages to open using the Android Messages app and not Handcent..

Is there a way to remove that default setting and set Handcent once again..

    Thanks

    yup...here's the process:

    1. go to Settings>Applications>Manage applications
    2. hit the menu soft key and select "Filter"
    3. Select "All"
    4. Scroll down to "Messaging" and select it.
    5. Hit the "Clear Defaults" button
    6. Back out of all settings.

The next time you send/receive a text, it should ask you what app you want to use...

    Excellent, cheers mate!! All fixed

Maybe you can help me here, When I open a message, although I would have opened the message, the notification remains in the status bar and will only go away when i press "Clear All"

    Thanks

Did you turn off notifications in the default messaging app? If not fire up the stock messaging app, go to settings, and uncheck the "Notifications" option. Back out to your home screen and then start up Handcent. Turn on "Notifications" in Handcent's settings and go into "Notifications setting" submenu. Adjust to you liking...

That's how I set mine up. I'm not sure if that solves your issue though...

How do you change the background on the messages screen? Not trying to hijack the thread just a question.

I do believe the voice to text feature/ability is a function of the keyboard that you're using and/or the android OS itself....it has nothing to do with the app you're in. someone correct me if i'm wrong though.

I have no issues using voice to text in handcent...actually works really well if u speak clearly and not too fast.
