    Voice Quality

Just got my Nexus One the other day and I've noticed the call quality isn't that great. No matter if I'm using the phone speaker or a bluetooth headset I hear a slight static in the background. The louder I turn up the volume, the louder the static gets. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

The first few calls I made with my phone were met with the response "Are you really outside? On your cellphone? Nooo, you can't be, it sounds perfect".

Seriously. I didn't use the phone on speakerphone mode and I didn't use a bluetooth headset. Maybe that's the problem for you? I wonder how the second microphone on the back that's used for noise-cancellation is affected by using it in speakermode, or using a BT headset. Both things seem to me like they would make things worse.

Sorry, when I say "phone speaker" I mean the normal ear piece.

If a reboot or factory reset doesn't improve it, I suggest a replacement...it's not normal. Sorry man!

N1 has the best voice quality of any phone I've had so far.

Mine sounds not that great too. At max volume it crackles and pops like a blown speaker in a car. Sounds okay aside from that though.

Make sure your ear hole is actually over the portion that looks like a speaker. I found moving the phone around my face made it sound better. As to the speaker phone quality, it sucks a$$. I listened to my Blackberry Tour 9630 speaker phone and this one side by side on the same conference call and the quality difference was amazing. The Nexus One sounds tinny and cheap. The Blackberry was deep and rich and made it so much easier to listen to. Blackberry wins hands down. I hear using the larger Seidio battery & Cover helps the sound. I need a larger battery so I'll probably end up getting one. I'll let you all know how it sounds.

+1 I absolutely love the voice quality on this phone... might be jacked hardware. You can always ask a priest to exercise those demons out though. Shout at your phone "THE POWER OF GOOGLE COMPELLS YOU"

    That would totally work
