I would wager you are getting EXACTLY the same reception, it's just a difference in how the phones report it (software).

exactly, but for real, need a way to start windows fresh
I just found this out this weekend how to do that. When your browser is open, tap the menu key and then tap the Windows key. Then hit the X on that open page. On my phone that closes the current window and the browser automatically goes back to my home page.

awesome, this definitely helps, but needs to be easier. why not just have the x on the upper right or left corner. guess everything cant be my way

You should compare the reception strength (in decibels) between the phones, in the same spot to get an accurate comparison. Call quality is often quite different between phones, especially among different makers. Even the same maker known for excellent call quality (eg.Motorola) can issue a dud phone model, so it's difficult to make generalisations about makers, these days.

cant really tell decibels in the 6230i,but my ear knows the difference, its a good wee back up phone to take abroad as i leave my sim in that and wifi with my n1

I guess my point was that there are a multitude of reasons call quality may sound better, unrelated to reception (which actually is the least likely culprit). As long as you have 1 bar, calls should 'sound' the same as if you had 4-5 bars, for example. Other reasons include a tuned (high-pass filter) speaker to eliminate almost all treble and hiss, or boost mids and bass, common in the human voice, or (gasp!) a superior sound chip in the Nokia, higher volume boost,etc.etc. Factors that affect actual reception are typically tranceiver placement on the mobo, it's orientation within the phone, the phone's shell (aluminum vs. plastic, etc.) and of course the efficacy of any shielding of the transceiver from surrounding electronics..that's why db specs are the best indicator of a phones relative reception for the sake of comparison. If Froyo gives you your 5 bars, for example, it may give you no discernable difference in call quality..that's what I meant to say.

Did anyone see the features they wanted? I noticed they changed the UI for the camera a little. Just what I asked for.

One more thing I would like to add.... I wish there were a locked landscape mode option for the home screens. I just like holding my phone that way.

Make rearanging icons/apps on home screen easier.

Also I hope they fix that bug that tells me I have no images on my gallery... when I DO have my SD card mounted and I DO have pictures and videos.

I would like in gmail to be able to just swipe the account name at the top and it would scroll over to your next accounts inbox. I find it a pain to have to go to menu -> accounts -> select the account to go through my inboxes.

I guess this is probably not in the Froyo release but I would love to see this update to the Gmail app.
