You need an bar code scanning app Lisa. Once you've installed that your set!
Search the Market in your phone for "Barcode Scanner"
I use http://www.androlib.com/android.appl...droid-xzA.aspx

No Problem
These are not traditional barcodes. They are called QR codes [ame=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QR_codes]QR Code - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[/ame]. Basically, you can embed links, phone numbers and other text-based data in them, making the info available and usable by applications on your phone by scanning the code.
On Android they're mostly used to launch the Market on your phone and take you directly to the app you want to download.
You can even create your own QR Codes for free online. Because of that I don't believe there is a central library of all QR Codes. I think it would be very hard to maintain

You can also use Google goggles app to scan them. Whenever I do though, and it offers to take me to the market, the app crashes.
o- Nexus One running CyanogenMod 6.0

o- Samsung Galaxy Tab running stock Froyo

(update: running Gingerbread and virtually useless)

I think it would be a great idea to incorporate barcode labels in to more everyday life. Have seen that the iphone has app's that you can download to scan and compare prices of food online, as well as an app that tells you the content of the food. Great start, just hope they keep developing the idea!
