Not true. It wasn't a Nexus One upgrade presentation, it was a upgrade presentation for android in general. Not all phones have a FM transmitter so Google didn't want to make those people feel inferior about their device not have certain features. It's like saying Android 2.2 doesn't support colored trackball alerts but maybe it does... maybe Google just decided not to go over trackball alerts since it would only apply to the N1 and would have been a waste of time for all their other android users to watch.

Froyo may well have FM transmitter support... patience my young padewan...

How many more people are going to repost things that other people just made up?

Colored trackball - If you want that, root your phone. Google has NEVER said that will be included in Froyo. It was in lists people made up that they said could be "expected" in this release. Until Google says it, I'm not believing a thing.

FM Radio - where the heck did that come from???

I thought Google said colored trackball was in the plan at the original intro back in January? As to FM...I never have known where that came from. Beyond that, FM simply sucks.:rofl3:

It's not an FM radio guys, it's an FM transmitter (think stream ipod to your fm radio) for which the hardware already exists in the phone. Same goes for Wireless N technology which also wasn't mentioned at the conference....but again the hardware is already in place to support it...it just needs to be turned on.

Some web sites claim that the Nexus One uses the BCM4329, which has an FM transmitter and receiver.

    Broadcom.com - BCM4329 - Low-Power 802.11n with Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR and FM (Tx and Rx)

Either way.. we won't get the fm transmitter with this release. If it had one someone would have reported it by now since numerous devs have it on their device.
