Mybackup or Titanium (both market) plus do a nandroid backup. But just use Pauls Modaco signed zip and flash over the top. It works.

I already have a froyo backup using the same zip, so do I then download titanium again and restore the backup?

Right created a backup of all apps and user data using titanium backup on the cyan ROM, reboot phone and booted back into the Froyo ROM and ran the Titanium backup again (after downloading again) and it is now re installing all the apps although they are now coming one by one which is really annoying as i have about 300+

Will update onece they are done and it has installed user data.

EDIT: Right i have finished installing everything from the backup, all the apps and user data have been transferred over except the homescreens which i wasn't to worried about haha, every single app i have is working except Lookout and all user data such passwords and remembered settings are back on. i would say this is a long but very effective method of transferring from ROM to ROM cheers robt772000 for the app help.

EDIT2: Sorry i spoke to soon, now that everything is on and working fin i cant seem to get a connection to the market, everything else connects fine except the market

    Couple things:

    1. buy the paid version of Titanium. Support the Dev and get sql that will automatically install everything for you and do it 4x faster and without manually clicking each app.

    2. when you restore you had to unclick alot of settings. You overwrote all your 2.1 system files over the 2.2 files.

You will need to reflash FROYO, download Ti and hit batch -> restore. Then click run next to "restore missing apps and data". This will give you all your apps and app settings without overwriting google and system info.

Not brave enough to click the edit button a third time, but a nandroid backup, wipe and flash of the new pre rooted Froyo image works fine then follow it up with a titanium restore and a few tweeks here and there and its sorted
