    Main Benefits of manual update:

    - Much faster, responsive OS
    - The obvious updates as listed on several news sites
    - Updated radio for improved reception

Main Benefits of waiting for OTA

    - More apps would have been redeveloped hopefully by then to be fully compatible with 2.2
    - Less risk of any possible bug doing something it shouldn't although I'm pretty damn sure Google have been testing the new OS for a very long time!

Personally, I did the manual update as soon as I heard the news and I haven't regretted it! I'm amazed how much faster and responsive my phone is now.
your words are very tempting and making me want to take the plunge. how long does it take, 10- 15 mins? but the biggest reason that i havent done it is because i read that the apps 2sd is not working yet? true or false?

Market apps to SDcard is enabled on the Nexus side...

It just needs to be done on the developers side also.

Well, I dunno how great Cyan's update will be this time. With JIT in FroYo the phone is ultra smooth. Google's really squeezed a lot out of the software stack.

It will be interesting to see what he comes up with besides the usual do-dads like a trackball wake feature.

Australia and waiting here I have an EPE54B build and haven't seen anyone say the manual update will work on it so I'm just gonna leave it for now.

I'll probably wait for for the OTA since I'm on ATT (even if it's released on the web), unless I still don't have it by mid june for my vacation. This gives the app developers more time to update their apps so I can hopefully have a relatively painless upgrade.
