how to downgrade back to 2.1

I manually updated to 2.2 and now I'm hearing that it may not be the final version. How can I go back to 2.1 if a newer version comes out. The dumb down version please.

Factory reset your phone? That's all I can think of.

AFAIK, Factory Reset will reset the settings to default not the OS

I read somewhere that if I can get a link to 2.1 update and install it the same way I did the. 2.2 update that would do it.

If you have unlocked the bootloader than it's easy.

Grab an image from MoDaC and flash it.

If you are a stock user, then it's FRF50 until the proper Froyo release.

If it turns out that Froyo was an unfinished version, then the newer one should install perfectly well on top.
