saw one in person yesterday in a carrier's store in manila philippines. the screen looks great! its huuuge! though i dont like the samsung interface (owned a galaxy spica before). it was really snappy.

was able to snap a photo with my nexus one.

This has always been the knock against Samsung phones. They always want to use their crappy interface. You pretty much know what the screen itself will be kick ass though, being that they are a LCD manufacturer.

Would it be possible to disable the custom UI like Sense?

This has been the case with Samsung devices such as the Omnia, but that was a windows phone. I would hope that they would leave that option open, but who knows.

    Sure hope so.

But I won't be getting another phone for some time... I might as well wait patiently for the next gen androids...

You know the ones with 2Ghz Cpu, better GPU, insane screens, yea that stuff

icons looked cartoony. i dont like the font as well. my main gripe about the samsung interface is the swipe left/right on the app drawer (like the iphone). its way slower than swiping up/down to scroll.

its also thin as hell! build quality is good. cranked it to full brightness before snapping that picture.

another thing i noticed when i played with the settings menu is that it bounces back when you scroll to the end like the iphone. that was nice.

Guess bounce scrolling IS possible in android. Put this in Froyo NOW google!

That would put us one step higher in UI experience

EDIT: Ou... 100th post!! (Just thought it was a momentous thing... )
