    Well that's harder to read than it should have been.

    Automatic updates is for market apps, not the OS.

    All that aside, I think the original question was "Will the Froyo Over The Air update happen automatically for the Nexus One?"

    If that was indeed the question, then the answer is "Yes". At some point, Google will start sending the Froyo update out. If you have a Nexus One that has never been updated to Froyo and you connect to the Internet through any mechanism, you WILL get the Froyo update. I expect that most people that already have Froyo won't wait for the next OTA, so that fine line doesn't matter .

    When will you get the update is another question. We can only hope that Google is in the process of ensuring the Nexus One update is relatively complete and bug free.
