The one that I had was right before the 5200. It was bigger and gray colored. Do you know that the model number might be? Now I'm really curious. I'm having a hard time finding it on the net.
I remember there were a lot of Motorola "grey ones" back then, but model numbers, no idea. The first one I became interested in was the 5200. I think it was the first GSM phone. It was fun being able to text in 1993 but not having anybody to send a text to ... LOL
o- Nexus One running CyanogenMod 6.0
o- Samsung Galaxy Tab running stock Froyo (update: running Gingerbread and virtually useless)

    I may be a young'n

Some sort of sanyo was my first phone on Verizon when I was 14, so 6 years ago.

Then switched to ATT and got:

Sony Ericsson w610 (the swivel one in orange)
Sony Ericsson w810 (loved this form factor, so small!)
    Sony Ericsson k790a
    Nokia N95-3
    Nokia E71
    N900 (switch to T-mobile)
    Back to E71
    N1 (coming soon I hope)

and right now I'm using a sharp 830sh on Softbank in Japan for the summer (AHAHAHAHAHA I hate it)

Looking at everyone's list, it seems Nokia and Motorola were the biggest manufacturers at the time (90's). They are still big today of course.
I personally think the Moto Razr is the best flip-phone design wise. It was slim, sleek and the buttons felt great when pressing...hahaha
