There are posts from people in the past (prior to FRF91) who were able to connect to their home routers with their N1s even when their routers were set to N only.

that is no way to indicate if you are having a wifi N on your mobile.
You can still be connected to a wifi G router , and use a wifi N reception ie. ur mobile.

wifi N gives a better range and that is what i am noticing in my nexus but of course speed does not change unless you get a wifi N router.

If your wifi is N only, and you can connect to it using your N1, doesn't that say something?

Once you're connected to your N router, dial *#*#INFO#*#* and see what your wifi connection speed is.

    So what's your point?

If your phone has N, of course you can connect to a G. It'll just downgrade to the slower bandwidth. But if your phone is a G at max, and your router is N only, it shouldn't work... unless I'm missing something here. At least I know I can't connect to a G-only signal using my old Nokia (which only has 801.11b).

I don't think there's a router on the market now that can do "N", that doesn't also do b/g.

Yeah, but you can set the frequency to N only.
