Nexus One: "Hold it any way you want to!"
LOL! Watch, you'll both get yours back before mine because yours are probably going to the new repair center, while mine is lost in the shuffle God knows where.
Did any of you guys get your diagnostic e-mail yet with the price so you can pay? Keep us updated. I tried contacting HTC through e-mail, no response. I called in, they said they'd call me in the afternoon, no response. I don't know what other options I have left. Is there a corporate number I can call?
UPDATE: I called in to see what was up. They said they had received the phone Friday but hadn't started working on it yet- hence no email. They said I probably won't hear anything till Monday since the service center is NOT open on the weekends (I was originally told the service center operated 7 days a week- so this is news to me). They also said the service center is backlogged pretty good- no surprise after i've heard the stories from on here but i decided to chance it anyways.
So.... we'll wait for Monday to come and go from there. My frustration is at a low-moderate level for now. A little irritated but not irate (yet).
Oh, I assumed the whole 7 days a week thing because that's what I was told. Apparently, that's only the people answering the phones. I don't know how quick they'll work to get all the repairs out (depends on the number I guess). On Monday, I'm hoping I finally get a definite answer. If not, I'm gonna ask for a person who is in charge.
HTC has been a big complete FAIL when it comes to N1 support. I've received great support from them with my previous HTC phones but not the Nexus One.
I've been waiting for them to email me the FedEx label since June 22. Its been over 2 weeks and still no label. I call them every couple days and all they say is that they'll escalate it. But of course every call gets the same BS 24 to 48 business hours. I'm getting an exchange as opposed to a repair so hopefully the turnaround time should be minimal. Also how long before we have to worry about them changing the amoled for LCD?
Thats weird I am getting an exchange and they sent me a label within the first hour. I printed it out and am waiting for the new phone to come on Tuesday. Sadly I called them on the Thursday the 8th so they said the phone will not me sent to me until the 12th so i should get it on Tuesday the 13th. My experience so far with HTC has been great and hopefully I can say that when the exchange is all done. My phone is being exchanged due to the phone sleeve they sent me rubbing the finish on my phone off and a slightly defective power button.
UPDATE:
I received an email yesterday from HTC saying they had received the phone and nothing more. Today I received an email stating they had diagnosed repairs and it was ready for approval. I was quoted $55 originally last week for the repair. The actual cost in the email came to $115. If I were to disapprove the repair, it still would have cost $29 in labor/shipping fees.
I am not happy about the discrepancy in price, and how long its taken so far (I shipped it on Thursday- it is now Tuesday.) HTC customer service made it sound like this would be a 3-4 day process max. when I spoke to them last week. Obviously we've gone past that already and I dont even have the phone back yet.
$55 seems ridiculously low...it's not consistent with what has been reported here, but the $115 is more typical. I wonder if the $55 was for the part, or the hourly labor rate. The $29 inspection/shipping fee is quite low for the industry as well...having priced initial inspection for broken LCD glass on my camera.
edit: oh..the expected turnaround time on my camera? 6 to 8 weeks!
