    Developers that don't update

Is there some kind of policy that app developers have to follow in regards to updating their apps?

There are a few paid apps that are not Froyo 2.2 compatible yet. Isn't it the dev's responsibility to keep them updated so that they work?

For example, NexusMod 2.0 Live Wallpaper. This app clearly does not work on 2.2 and the dev has not updated it yet even when the the source was released over a month ago. Now, if this app was free, I wouldn't care as much. However, I paid good money for this and I feel ripped off because the dev seems to have just abandoned it.

I wouldn't think that a dev is obligated to keep their app up to date with the latest OS builds, although if they want to protect their rep, I'd think they would want to.

Consider leaving the appropriate feedback in the Market. I've actually gone back and changed my original positive comment to a less-than-favorable comment due to the app either not keeping current or in one case, causing me to loose data.

Public feedback is really the only tool we have.

Agreed! Survival of the fittest! You've already paid your money, it might seem like you're screwed ,but you have power...change your comment in the market(after trying to contact the developer first,of course) and let your voice be heard! This hurts their future sales,if anything will make them wake up,that will.
Alas,a lot of developers out there are literally individuals, and a summer vacation can make it appear that they're the worse company on the planet,so I try to cut them some slack. Depends on the application.

I don't have that app but I checked it out in the Market and it says:

    **Froyo Users**
    Update: 7-2-2010
"Now that source is out, I've started working on an update. Stay tuned!"

So hopefully he'll have an update soon.
Come here little sheep; I have a nice juicy apple for you!
