    Missing part after screen replacement?

Not much else matters. I know this fits inside of a Nexus One somewhere but I don't know where. The new digitizer didn't seem to work so it could be related to grounding the capacitative touch screen.

Could anyone help? Or possibly do a teardown while hunting for this thing?

That looks like a pop rivet. Probably held in the main circuit board, I'd guess.

A pop rivet or a miniature Flux Capacitor lol,
I found some teardown pics that may help you identify whatever it is here:

Best bet is to call HTC/Google support again and forward that pic or the part itself to them to sort out. Keep us posted.
