Be careful when changing google account password

I had this terrible experience a few days ago. I had changed my google account password on PC about a week before, and hadn't restart my n1 since. On that day, after restarting, I realized that all my settings were cleaned up because my n1 couldn't sync with my google account. And for the rest of the day I had to re-install apps (most apps FC after the sync error) and restore my data manually. Not sure if any of you have had the same experience before, and don't know if there's any way to prevent things like this from happening if you need to change your google account password...

Yikes! A problem no one will want to try to debug. We're doomed!
Seriously this is definitely NOT GOOD.

What if you try to change the password from the phone rather than the pc? would it automatically update?

good question. One might also wonder whether keeping one's PC browser open at that time would facilitate debugging the process. Maybe an inquiry to Google is in order. Search terms "password change" + sync

Don't want to burst anyone's bubble but I had to change my password for update purposes earlier today and almost immediately after I did that on the laptop my nexus started syncing and is now using the new password so I think the error may be deeper than you think?

I turned off my n1's data service and it only connects to wifi when the screen is on. And when I changed my password my n1 wasn't connected to internet. I guess that was why it didn't sync the password change...

I am guessing a combination of things caused the problem but I don't want to try and re-create it
