Shame we can't specify NEVER update app

It's cool having the "Allow automatic updating" option with Froyo, it's a real shame that there isn't a "Never update" option too.

There are some apps that I've read in the market comments are much worse with their most recent update and I therefore don't want to update those apps. Ever.
o- Nexus One running CyanogenMod 6.0
o- Samsung Galaxy Tab running stock Froyo (update: running Gingerbread and virtually useless)

I don't install apps that have bad updates, I ALWAYS read reviews before downloading!

Here here! I second (or third) that. Even if we could dismiss the current update message and then be reminded for the next update that would be a help too.

Exactly lol. Turn off "Allow Automatic Updating" and never update the applications.

Why are you all saying just don't update them ?

What do you think I've already been doing all this time ?

Chill.. I'm just reiterating that we shouldn't need a "Do Not Update" button. Unless we get annoyed of the word "update" next to each application, ya know?

My problem app is twitter. I don't use it, can't delete it, but the update is very persistent. It sometimes gets updated and I then go in and remove the updates. But I don't like that I can't delete the base program. Programs with bad updates just get deleted. I, too, read the reviews and check the update record. Very careful about getting programs with decent reviews. Evidently I don't always like what others do cause I still get some clunkers. It's all part of the process.

Not really griping just tossing in my 2 pennies. I very much like the N1 and feel that since most of my programs are free, I'm not allowed to gripe real loud. I can't write a program. If I could some would find fault with mine, maybe even I would.

Don't see anything in a newer phone that gives me a temptation to leave my Nexus One!
