Busted: 5 Myths About Increasing and Decreasing Android's Battery Life

Here is what really caught my eye:

“To also help with Battery Life you can do these steps exactly:

Turn your device ON and Charge the device for 8 hours or more
Unplug the device and Turn the phone OFF and charge for 1 hour
Unplug the device Turn ON wait 2 minutes and Turn OFF and charge for another hour.
Your battery life should almost double, we have tested this on our devices and other agents have seen a major difference as well”

Let us know how it works out. I'm curious and would love to try it but my phone is work and it'd be the weekend before I can try it.

Yes, will do. I assume by On and Off they mean screen and not a full shutdown and power up?

No, I understood it to be turning it off by the power button. That is why I am thinking it would be the weekend before I could try it.

Sounds like you have to do this almost every time to get real benefits from it, but a lot of people are saying it works.

I wonder, though, how much life this takes out of your battery. It sounds almost like battery overclocking.

I do NOT Recommend this, i have tried this and yes it has its benefits BUT it also changes the Battery Cache for the worse. Because of this i lost 2% battery over 12 hours (sleeping time) and had on the phone both HSDPA & Sync enabled all night, now i would say this was pretty good however when the phone finally drained to 10% it shut down with an apparent 10% charge and would not power past recovery. to fix this i had to clear the battery Cache but i also lost the progress i made and the following night in the same position lost 12% over 12 hours.

Good feedback Nobby! Thank you for the reply as I'm not going to be doing that now.

It is a good idea but could damage the phone, i followed the guide to the letter and found that 10% was the cut off point but extensive "battery tuning" may result in a larger "dead zone"
