This is a discussion on Post everything 2.2.1 related here. within the Nexus One forums, part of the Google Phones category; Hmmm. Interesting...
I got my OTA update around 3:30 am this morning (stock, not rooted). It went fast and I didn't notice anything new other than the version/build stuff until I used my Audible app. I download The New York Times every morning and it usually takes a couple of minutes, but today it seemed like it went less than a minute.
I found that interesting.
I did a checkin and did not receive ota. So I downloaded FRG83 and did manual recovery mode update on my unrooted AT&T Nexus One with stock FRF91. Update went smooth and unit is back up and running now.
Much smoother than yesterday: I encoded some content (mp4) but it must have been corrupt because it seriously locked up my N1--stuck in boot cycle; 30 minutes with HTC support before deciding to start fresh--hard reset. I thought I'd see more app data get restored from google. Oh well. Note to self: until Google smashes that mediaplayer bug double check content on desktop before copying to sdcard.
I've been meaning to root so I could use titanium backup. Looks like I'll be waiting some more now, if indeed androot is broken. I will likely use something like My Backup II and/or Astro for backps now.
I know this sounds really noobish, but you need a data connection to get the OTA, right? It won't work over wifi, will it?
hmm, weird. I am in Ohio so I figured I would have also gotten the update as someone else from Ohio did.
I'm too impatient! haha.
