The launch of the Google Nexus Two has been delayed by a hardware glitch, it has been claimed.
The handset, the existence of which has yet to even be confirmed by Google, was initially thought to be due to be officially unwrapped on Thursday (November 11th).
However, it now looks like that prediction is very premature. That’s because, according to Tech Crunch at least, “a serious hardware issue was discovered” during “dogfooding”, which means that the handset is being postponed until this has been addressed.
Since rumours of the Nexus Two first surfaced last month, speculation has been rife over pretty much every part of its manufacture and availability.
Latterly, it’s been claimed that the device will be made by Samsung, suggesting that the search giant has dropped HTC, which made the Nexus One, as a partner. For what it’s worth, however, Samsung has seemingly categorically denied any involvement with the project.
It is also rumoured that the Nexus Two will be sold exclusively through Carphone Warehouse and will be available through a range of networks. The fact that the Nexus One was exclusive to Vodafone was deemed to have been a big factor in it failing to emulate the sales of other similarly powerful Android devices such as the HTC Desire.
