You'd be better off with a bit more space...

If you plan on using apps2ext, you'll need to partition the card (which will wipe it), so you may just want to copy everything to your pc.

Cool - just delete some stuff so that you have a gig or so of space...

Cool! Thank you very much! I ran the superoneclick and everything seems ok. It went thru rageagainstthecage and said the device is "rooted" and is now stuck in "getting mount path" now what?

It looks like you may have to toggle the USB debugging to get it to complete.

Like I said, I've never used superoneclick, so I'm not sure how it works...
    Here's the xda thread:
    [APP]SuperOneClick v1.5.5 (Root, Unroot, Enable Non-Market App, Get UNLOCK code) - xda-developers

Once rooted, the first thing you want to do is install a custom recovery and make a full backup. Easiest way is to download ROM Manager, use it to install a recovery (clockwork and Amon Ra are both available).

I tried everything in that xda thread...well not everything becuse the thread is 101 pages long, but everything on the first post and nothing seems to work. My phone works, so I guess I'll have to wait until someone with superOneClick knowlege helps out. Or maybe I'll just try another method.
