To roll back, download FRG33 from here:
    http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki...Nexus_One/Roms

Rename the file to passimg.zip and place in the root of your SD card (i.e. not in any folder). Power off the phone. Boot into bootloader by holding volume down and power at the same time. Your phone should ask I if you want to install the file...

This will get you to FRG33, and you will have to update to FRG83, then 83D, then finally 83G (search for Passion files).

In order to upgrade your phone with this file, your phone must be on FRG83G. If it isn't, it likely won't work. Look for downloads for your version if this is your problem.
Surley the FRG83G is gingerbread. So a phone wont be on that in the first place.

Not getting OTA upgrade in UK yet and the Manual update always fails on the E verification failure notice. SOOOOOOOoooooo frustrating.

    Any Ideas.

    Fone is on Voadafone uk
    2.2.1 vesion
    FRG83D

    Cheers
FRG83G is not gingerbread, you must be on FRG83G before upgrading to GB.
If you want to upgrade to gingerbread but are not on FRG83G like you are go here [OTA] Gingerbread 2.3.3 for N1 - Downloads and Guides Linked - xda-developers
and download the second Official OTA Link that says: GRI40 from whatever with that ugrade file it doesnt matter on what version you are on.The file is like 87mb its a bit bigger.
Me too i removed my providers ROM when i got the phone.
Nope tried the GRI40 from whatever it still give the E verification fail.
WHATS THE DEAL WITH THIS PHONE Grrrrrrrrrrr

Are you still running a Vodafone ROM? If so, that's probably the problem...

for those who also have battery issue since GB, have you found a solution?...

I was hoping after some time it would be a non issue - but I still have crappy battery life (using the phone the same as I did prior to GB)...

I love the fact that everything is faster - but not at the expense of battery life (to this extent).

i have found the battery life to be better under gingerbread - could just be me though.

biggest issue so far I have run into is the bluetooth not wanting to connect automatically. I usually have to manually pair everything.

Other then that gingerbread has been good!

This link fixed the problem for me: Goodbye Vodafone UK Nexus One ROM! Hello Gingerbread. The Open Source Administrator

Very clear-cut steps. Might want to give that a shot.

(Note: I live in the US and use T-Mobile as well)

Thanks should be sent to danger-rat & jas0311

For those who have a problem with manual updating or have not got the update yet, here is what I did to solve the problem.
First: you need to roll back to FRG33. Here is the method:
    - Download the Rom from here:
    Nexus One/Roms - XDA-Developers
    - Rename the downloaded ZIP file to PASSIMG.ZIP.
    - Transfer the provided PASSIMG.ZIP file to the root of your SD card.
    - Power down your phone.
    - Hold down the Volume Down button as you power your phone back on.
    - A screen should appear showing your phone’s system searching for various files. This will take up to 2 minutes.
    - The phone will ask you if you want to start the update. Press the Volume Up button to start the update.
    - If you followed these steps correctly - congratulations, you are now on stock ROM of your choice. (adopted from XDA Developer)

    -----------------------------------------------------------------

Second: you need to download this ROM to upgrade to GB 2.3.3. Here is the method:
    - Download the file (GRI40 from whatever):
    http://android.clients.google.com/pa...8.656099b1.zip
    - Rename to "update.zip" and copy to the root of SD card.
    - Power down your phone.
    - Hold down the Volume Down button as you power your phone back on.
    - Select "RECOVERY" with Volume Up/Down buttons, press Power button when selected.
    - Press Power and Volume Up when the warning triangle icon appears.
    - Select "Apply sdcard:update.zip".
    - Wait for the Progress to complete, the phone will reboot a couple of times automatically. (adopted from XDA Developer)

    I hope this helps.
