Done and done. Thanks for the links to the update file. I've been hanging out for this for a long time, but being in Australia we always seem to be towards the end of the line for receiving OTA updates so I did mine manually. Initial thoughts are; the UI looks a lot better than it does in pictures, it seems to take longer to boot up, and something has obviously changed in the data APN control because I've had to change my widget control so that it alters the names of the APNs to turn them on/off instead of the usual way (which was quicker, but I don't know how it's different).

98% battery before installing, now 93% after install and one reboot of my own, hopefully not a sign of things to come :rofl3:

Having problems rooting 2.3.3 with the manual method. I don't think it's anything major, but I couldn't get it to take... I'll have a play over the weekend.

I have the updated hboot file if anyone needs it (rooted users only).

Am I missing something here? Since updating my Quadrant benchmark tests have returned a 918, 1008, 1217, and just now a 1038, all much slower than when it had 2.2.

    So much for speed improvements.

Maybe quadrant needs to be updated for Gingerbread to show the performance improvements. Overall though, I didn't sense any performance differences between 2.2 and 2.3 on my N1.

could this be a sign that Gingerbread really is coming after all?

The Gmail update screwed up for me. After the install, I tapped on the Gmail icon to open it and view any changes, but Handcent opened instead. Tried several times. FC'd Handcent and tried the Gmail icon again - same result.

I then uninstalled the Gmail update, went to the Market and reinstalled it - now all is well - Strange huh?

that is definitely a little bit strange!
I didn't seem to have any problems with mine

Its was officially announced by Google on 22 Feb that nexus one and nexus s are being updated to gingerbread 2.3.3 and the process will complete in a few weeks. So this means that your phone will receive the update anytime now

    Yeah I know,
It is just hard to believe since they were saying we were going to get it for a while now....... and now it is actually here.... YAY

I am jealous that you guys are already running it. I think I am going to hold out for the OTA...

I'm on Rogers (the devil) Wireless and still have no OTA here in Toronto

I don't know how much longer I can wait haha!
