T-Mobile might Block Tethering Nexus One with GB

    Guys,

Have you guys seen this message before

    889:Free T-Mobile Msg:
Phone Tethering & Wi-Fi Sharing access may be blocked unless you add a phone tethering & Wi-Fi Sharing Plan available at my.t-mobile.com.

I'm not a heavy usage, maybe once a month when traveling just browsing website. this is the first time that I use Tethering after I did the update of GB.

    Should I stop use it?

    Please share your comment.

    Hobbes

Hmm haven't seen that message and I use wifi tethering frequently with my nook. I'm on track to exceed the 5GB data cap for this billing cycle so I'll keep an eye out for this message.

I haven't seen that message either, but it is very concerning. I plan on getting a tablet in the near future and don't want to buy a data plan for it. I figure when I wasn't home, I'd just tether it to my phone.

I've seen other discussions on the same subject, and these messages seem to get followed up with another one which states that tethering has been blocked...

Same here I was planning to get the IPAD 2 next month and do the same thing. Now I have to consider of not to buy it yet.

Thanks for the link Danger. I see you posted on it! I'm concerned because I'm surfing 3 nights a week on my N1. Wink wink. Not watching too many videos or anything. just going to forums and an occasional youtube or cnet vid. If I lose tether I'm screwed. It's been a rough winter for me finanially. i don't need tmo to get nasty with me.

PS- I've checked my usage and it's usually below 4GB a month.

I've been tethering with my Nook, and I'm thinking of getting the new Tab 8.9. If T-Mo start playing tough with me, I'll probably threaten to drop them. I've been with them for 7 years, and my bill is usually $200+ a month because of my wifes business...

It may not be on his N1 though, since the OP also has an MT3G...?

Apparently ATT has enforced illegal tethering as well and forcing people into a tether plan unless they call to cancel.
